Pingara Rajyotsava Prashasthi-2007 will be awarded to Editor-in-Chief of www.daijiworld.com Walter D’Souza Nandalike.
Addressing a press meet, here on Monday, Pingara Editor Raymond Thakode said the award will be distributed on November 6 at Town hall in Mangalore.
He said Mangalore Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza will convey the benedictory speech and present the award. Magnum Intergraphics Chairman Sudhir P Ghate will preside. Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva will inaugurate ‘Pingara Sahithya Balaga’ and Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain and Fr Boneventure Nazreth of Valencia Church will be the chief guests.
Mr Thakode said the award is being given to Walter D’souza Nandalike for his service by creating daijiworld website which has helped many coastal people who are residing outside the country to be in touch with their motherland and to obtain day-to-day information. The first award was given to Kannada Prabha reporter K Dayananda Pai and last year’s awardee was Dr M Mohan Alva.
The award distribution ceremony will be followed by magic show by Fr Ivan Madtha and an orchestra. Mamatha G Rao and Ivan D’Souza were present.
