“Industries should come forward to finance technical educational institutions. If industries take up the initiatives, then the problem of career opportunities will be solved,” said AICTE Member Secretary Dr K Narayan Rao.
Addressing the gathering at the concluding ceremony of TIFAC-CORE Meet-2007 organised by Manipal Life Sciences Center, Manipal University on Sunday, he said “the vision of AICTE is to be a world class organisation leading technological and socio-economic development of the country by enhancing the global competitiveness of technical manpower and by ensuring high quality technical education to all sections of the country.”
Stressing the need for a planned and co-ordinated development of technical education in the country Mr Rao said AICTE lays more emphasis on developing high quality institutions, academic excellence and innovative research and development programmes. It also aims at promoting industry- institution interaction for developing new products services and patents, he added
Member Secretary TIFAC Governing Council Dr Bharathi Ray urged students not to forget the past and own values. She also said “Goal of life should be pursuing excellence and at least try to make one person literate.”
