Vivek stars in BMS triumph
Vivek scored 67 as BMS College of Law defeated BILS by 60 runs in the final of the BM Sreenivasaiah memorial inter-law collegiate cricket tournament.

Put in to bat, BMS rode on man of the match Vivek’s half-century to post a commanding 182 for four from their 20 overs. BILS were never in the hunt as they settled for 122 for nine when they ran out of time.

Brief scores: BMS College of Law: 182/4 in 20 overs (Vivek 67, Yashwanth 31, Upeksha 25; Jayram 4-39) bt BILS: 122/9 in 20 overs (Praveen 2-7, Sajid 2-23, Madhu 2-27, Upeksha 2-28).

Bhushan rallies to dump Bhaskar
Ajay Bhushan got the better of B Bhaskar 5-3 after a titanic struggle in the second leg of the 38th Senior State-ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA Hall on Monday.

Bhushan came back from the loss of the first two frames to open up a 3-2 lead, only for Bhaskar to knot things up. Bhushan, however, took the hard-fought seventh and then ran away with the eighth to complete a 33-75, 10-61, 80-32, 75-49, 68-65, 24-60, 57-43, 86-44 victory.

Other results: MS Arun bt Sohail Jairaj 5-1 (69-26, 49-19, 71-39, 12-70, 71-36, 65-60); BVS Murthy bt Vinay Katrela 5-1 (83-8, 102-8, 72-37, 44-50, 81-19, 77-42).

ISRO, Wanderers split points
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Bangalore Wanderers played out a 2-2 draw in the ‘C’ Division football league at the ITI ground on Monday.

Wanderers went 1-0 up in the 13th minute through Anand while Chetan netted the equaliser  for ISRO in the 33rd minute. In the 55th minute, Chetan completed a double to put his team on top but another Anand strike seven minutes later restored parity.

At the 515 Army Base ground, MICO posted a comeback 4-2 win over Minerva.

Minerva went into the break with a two-goal lead through Eshwar (16th) and Krishna (20th) but Arun’s brace in a span of ten minutes (46th, 56th) levelled the score.

Then, Kumar (65th) and Kabilan (66th) struck in quick succession to settle the issue for MICO.

Deepak scores five to sink BCYA
Deepak scored five times as Dhyan Chand HC from Tumkur crushed BCYA 6-2 in the 29th State-level hockey tournament for the Kodava Cup at the BEL grounds on Monday.

Deepak struck in the 19th, 44th, 45th, 52nd and 54th minutes, while Rudresh slotted home the other in the 22nd minute. For BCYA, Sujeth Chengappa (40th) and Prathik Prakash (43rd) were on target.

In the day’s first match, Postal rode on goals from Mudappa in the 29th and 59th minutes to defeat SBMJC 4-2. Also scoring for Postal were Prakash Chalke (17th) and Tharanath (22nd). SBMJC’s consolation strikes came from Puneeth (48th) and Sumanth Patel (50th).

Aman to lead State U-15 squad
Aman Raj of Presidency School will lead the State under-15 side in the South Zone Polly Umrigar tournament for P Krishnamurthy Trophy to be held from November 1-20 at Thiruvananthapuram.

Under-10 Futures tournament

MAIS score   over FAPS
Mallya Aditi International School defeated Frank Anthony Public School 33-19 in the inter-school basketball tournament at the Clarence High School courts on Monday.

The winners led 13-8 at half-time.
Result: MAIS: 33 (Iravathi 8, Namratha 10) bt FAPS: 19 (Amritha Jain 4, Rishika 6). HT: 13-8.
