The Kannada and Culture Department has decided to hold valedictory of Suvarna Karnataka celebrations and Vishwa Kannada Sammelana when an elected government is in place.
Kannada and Culture department secretary I M Vittalmurthy said, “Earlier we had planned to hold valedictory of the celebrations on November 1. But later, the administration thought that such a major programme should be held when elected government is in place”.
Mr Vittalamurthy also said the state government has released Rs 10 lakh to set up a museum to display collections of late B V Karanth at Rangayana in Mysore.
Kalamandira in Mysore will be named after B V Karanth, he said.
Explore Hampi
He said Tourism Department has taken up a innovative programme - Explore Hampi - as part of Hampi Utsav, scheduled to begin on November 3.
As many as 10 high school students from each district will be selected and they will be involved in a week-long workshop.
Explore Hampi on heritage of Hampi, he said.
