The senior JD(S) leader, who had raised banner o revolt against the Gowda family. declared on Monday he would accept it as a “challenge” and continue in active politics. He had announced sometime ago he would retire from active politics.
Speaking to reporters after submitting a memorandum to the Governor to dissolve the Assembly, he said the way in which the Kumaraswamy camp is trying to form government is “illegal and unethical”.
It is the decision of an individual (Mr Kumaraswamy) and not the legislature party, he stated.
An unfazed Prakash indirectly took potshots at the party supremo H D Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswamy for not being “open” and “transparent” in running the party.
On Gowda’s allegation that the Congress was trying to split the party, he said it is an unfounded fear.
When asked if he is expecting disciplinary action from the party, Prakash said his move does not amount to anti-party activity. “I don’t think the party can take any action against me.”
The Prakash camp, in a memorandum to the Governor, has urged not to invite BJP-JD(S) combine to form government as they have already ruled the State and broken apart.
Prakash has pointed out to the mudslinging campaign indulged in by these parties after the collapse of the JDS-BJP government led by H D Kumaraswamy and the campaign launched by them against each other.
