Announcing an additional $100 million venture capital funding to expand investments in Indian companies, Cisco, on Tuesday, announced its global collaboration with Satyam Computer Services for integrated health management solutions for global markets.
The collaboration was announced by Cisco Chairman & CEO John Chambers and Satyam Founder & Chairman B Ramalinga Raju during the inauguration of Cisco’s Globalisation Centre East campus in Bangalore.
“This collaboration will bring traditional healthcare solutions and technologies together, for accurate and low cost health solutions,” Mr Raju said.
New facility
The new campus will initially accommodate 1,200 personnel from Cisco’s globalisation centre, R&D, IT & customer support team in India. The company in October 2005 had commited $50 million to build the new facility.
The centre will house Cisco’s latest technology solutions and provide environment for collaboration with partners for solutions for customers in emerging markets. It will also develop new models, services and solutions for emerging markets.
Cisco also presented its next generation display technology ‘Cisco TelePresence.’The one million sq ft centre was unveiled by Mr Chambers and former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
