Mystery shrouds bride's death
Bangalore, DHNS:
Barely hours after the wedding reception party on Monday night, the bride was no more...

Jeevitha (21), who got married on October 24, was found dead under mysterious circumstances, on Tuesday morning.

The deceased’s husband A Kaviyarasu and his relatives claimed she committed suicide, while her parents alleged that she was murdered. The body has been kept at M S Ramaiah Hospital. Post-mortem is scheduled for Wednesday.

Jeevitha and Kaviyarasu were in love. Both are residents of Kuvempunagar, Jalahalli East. Kaviyarasu worked for an electrical contractor. Their marriage was held in Vellupuram district of Tamil Nadu on October 24.

Jeevitha’s parents-Karuppan and Indhirani-had agreed to give dowry as demanded by Kaviyarasu’s parents, Andappan and Sudamani. But, there was a delay. However, the reception was held at Phathima Thirumana Mahal in  Jalahalli on October 29.

Jeevitha’s parents - Karuppan and Indhirani - assured they would give dowry either on Tuesday or Wednesday. Before Karuppan could give the dowry, Kaviyarasu and his parents strangled her to death, they alleged.

Police refused to divulge any information. It is learnt they have taken Kaviyarasu, Andappan, Sudamani, and his sisters-Kavitha, Kavimuli and Shankaralinga, Kavitha’s husband, another relative of Jeevitha into custody.
