Addressing presspersons he said that the theme of the conference will be “frontiers of medicine in the 21st Century.”

This conference will be inaugurated by Former Medical Education Minister Dr V S Acharya and around 150 delegates from US, UK and Pakistan are expected to attend the conference, he added.

The convocation of the Academy to confer Fellowships will be held on November 3.   Prasar Bharathi Chairman M V Kamath will be the chief duest for the convocation.  The major highlight of this year’s conference is the institution of Dr T M A Pai Oration. Nephrologist Manipal Hospital Bangalore Sudharshan Ballal will deliver this oration.  Dr Irwin Taylor will be orator for Dr Narasimha Rao oration.

There will be guest lectures, covering various aspects of medicine delivered by eminent specialists from all over the world.

There will be over 50 scientific papers presented and discussed during the conference.  MIT Director and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr S S Pabla, Scientific Committee Chairman Dr Joseph Thomas, Organising Secretary Dr Padma Raj Hegde and PRO Babanna were present at the meet.
