Opposing the attack on medical practitioners of Balehonnur, a day-long protest will be organised by Bharatiya Vaidyakeeya Sangha on October 31.
The Sangha said the doctors and medical staff work under much pressure using limited facilities available in the villages and hence attacking such doctors and hospitals is condemnable. Such attacks will affect the moral strength and confidence of the doctors and medical practitioners will be unwilling to work in villages, they said.
Attack on doctors when their treatment does not succeed in certain circumstance holds mirror to some anti-social elements in the health sector, they charged. The case filed against the doctors must be withdrawn immediately and those who engineered the attack apart from those who were directly involved in the attack must be arrested, they demanded.
Seeking justice in the case, a day-long protest will be held in Sringeri area. The Sangha will open medical stores and labs in the protest venue and over 25 doctors will participate, the Sangha added.
