The bundh scheduled to be observed on October 31 under the leadership of Sahyadri Yuvaka Sangha, demanding the repair of Kushalnagar-Madikeri road has been withdrawn on Tuesday.
Informing this to mediapersons here, the Town Panchayat member Joseph Victor Sons said the decision had been taken in the backdrop of the move of the Karnataka State Road Development Corporation of filling the potholes as a measure of temporary maintenance.
However, he said protest will be intensified if Bangalore-Madikeri State Highway was not developed in a proper manner under the aegis of KSRDC. He also urged for immediate measures to repair Kushalnagar-Madikeri road and Kushalnagar-Koodige road. Sahyadri Yuvaka Sangha Convener T L Praveen, Chamber of Commerce President K S Rajeshekhar, Sangha Secretary B P Kishnamurthy and Kannada Rakshana Vedike taluk chief P K Jagadish and others were present.
