Villagers protest against stopping of ration through the PDS

The residents of  Nuduvahalli and other surrounding villages near Handakere Hobali in Chikkanayakanhalli taluk staged a dharna in front of the Taluk offices protesting against the taluk  administration that  has  stopped distributing items through the public  distribution system. The  villagers  alleged  that the administration has given  petty reasons for this and therefore they were demanding and immediate solution for this problem. N G  Hallappa from Naduvanhalli that fell under the Doddannagere Panchayatha in Handakere hobli alleged that the concerned PDS shop has stopped distributing citing that a few  anti  social  beings had  created a ruckus during the distribution. Therefore th  tahasildhar has stopped the  distribution itself.

Politicos speak
Condemning  this manner by the  administration, the  villagers gathered in front of the taluk  administration offices with their  bags and kerosene can requesting that the distribution be started  again.

 Addressing the protesters KPCC member Simeyenne Shivanna said that it was unacceptable that the administration had  stopped distributing the essential commodities to the  poor people and that strict action must be  taken by the authorities against the erring officials.

He  also lashed out against the PSI of Nuduvahalli when no  action was  taken  against the  miscreants despite the a complaint being  lodged.

Congress  leader Bargur Basavraj who also spoke at the  protest criticised the local  legislators  for  practicing petty  politics with important issues like food grains for the poor.

H B S Narayana Gowda also added that strict action should be  taken against the guilty and  also warned of intensive  stir if the distribution was no re started immediately under the police protection.

Nuduvanhalli Grama Panchayat members, Kamalamma, Yediuradhya, Nataraj and Kidukanhalli Grama panchayat members  K M Narasimha Murthy, Sushilamma participated in the protest along with District congress president K G  Krishne Gowda. Hundreds of people gathered in the  premises in protest.
