Dog shoots man
It is news when a man bites a dog, not when a dog bites a man, but what about when a dog shoots a man? In a nasty twist to the old adage of journalism, an Iowa man is nursing a leg wound after a hunting dog stepped on his gun, AP reports. James Harris, 37, was shot last on Monday while out with a party shooting for pheasants in Poweshiek county in the midwest state.

The Iowa natural resources department said the victim rested his gun on the ground while retrieving a shot pheasant. As he crossed a fence a dog trod on the trigger and shot him in the calf from just a metre away. He is recovering in hospital in Iowa City.

Spears’ at it again
Troubled pop superstar Britney Spears is sure to anger the Catholic church with her controversial “confession” photo-shoot for her new album Blackout, reports IANS from London.

She appears in a very short skirt and reveals her fishnet stocking-clad legs as she sits in the confessional box while a handsome priests listens to her confession. In another picture, she sits on his lap in the cubicle.

No: 2 for Jolie?
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is “pregnant” with her second child, reports PTI from New York.
The 32-year-old actress recently pulled out of a talk in Italy “for personal reasons” following which the media reported that it was because she was expecting another baby with star hubby Brad Pitt.

“She cancelled. I can’t confirm her pregnancy but the Italian papers are correct in their reports,” Jolie’s spokeswoman Letizia Manjani was quoted as saying.

Movie on NYT reporter
Director Rod Lurie is set to make a movie on the ousted New York Times reporter Judith Miller, who exposed Valerie Palme as a covert CIA agent, with a few noticeable changes, reports IANS from New York.

The movie is titled Nothing But The Truth and the story is about how Miller refused to name her source who told her about Palme, pagesix.com reports. British actress Kate Beckinsale has been cast to play the main lead and former Friends star David Schwimmer will appear in the movie as her husband.

Crowe spat on Washington
Actor Russell Crowe says he will never forget the first time he met Denzel Washington and accidentally spit on his lip, reports IANS from New York.

The two had worked together in the movie Virtuosity in 1995 when Crowe was still a struggler and he still gets embarrassed when he recalls his screen test. Washington at that time was already famous.

“In 1995 on Virtuosity, I was doing a screen test and Denzel already had the gig. We had a cyclone wire fence between us and the scene was pretty intense. They said, ‘Action!’ and I started going into it. And this little bit of spit comes out of my mouth, it was really athletic and graceful, wound its way through the cyclone wire and straight onto Denzel’s lip. And the thing is, he was really cool about it... he just let it run... His line, which I'll always remember as cool, he said, ‘I love the taste of saliva in the morning’!”
