Mixed day for Mackenzie
In a keenly contested match, Duncan Mackenzie defeated Sajan Bopanna 5-4 in the second leg of the 38th State senior ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA hall on Tuesday.

Latter, Mackanzie fell 1-5 to Sohail Jairaj.

Punit double  propels Vehicles
Riding on a brace from Punit Kumar, Vehicles Football Club outclassed Vivekananda 4-1 in the ‘C’ Division football league at the Army Base ground on Tuesday.

Vehicles went into the lead in the 25th minute with Karthik finding the target but Suresh Kumar levelled the score for Vivekananda six minutes later.

At the stroke of half-time, Vehicles again grabbed lead through Punit and three minutes into the second session, he slammed another goal to make matters more safe for Vehicles. Shiv Kumar then struck the fourth goal in the 65th minute to seal the issue.

At the ITI ground, ITC and Queen Star played out a goalless draw.

Naveen edge out Cauvery
Naveen Hockey Club scraped past Cauvery Hockey Club 8-6 in tie-breaker in the 29th State level hockey tournament for Kodava Cup on Tuesday.

Both the teams were tied 3-3 at the full time. For Naveen, Naveen Kumar (20th), Sailesh (41st) and Vasanth (54th) scored while, R Muthappa (7th, 16th) and S Nanaiah (8th) found the target for Cauvery.

In the tie-break, Naveen, Sailesh, Vasanth, Deepak and Chandrasekhara scored for the winners.

D Joyappa, D Pradeep, Belliappa scored for Cauvery, while Nanaiah made the costly mistake.

In another match, DBHA beat ITI 2-1. T B Ponnappa (16th) and Hari Govind (50th) sounded the board for the winners. ITI pulled one back through Ponnappa in the 15th minute.

ACUK’s inter-high school quiz
Association of Cricket Umpires Karnataka will conduct an inter high school quiz on cricket at BHS School, RV Road on November 11. Entries close with organisers on November 5.
