Senior Congress leaders Ramesh Kumar and V S Ugrappa met Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Tuesday evening and submitted a memorandum urging him not to accord his consent for formation of government by BJP-JD(S) combine.
The submission of memorandum is said to be a follow-up of discussions senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Dharam Singh and H K Patil had with the Governor on Sunday.
According to a source, Congress has drawn Governor’s attention to the horse-trading of legislators that is going on.
“The MLAs are being held as hostages in resorts. Moreover, both BJP and JDS have now resorted to pressure tactics to coerce the Governor’s office to invite both parties to form government,” the party has said in the memorandum.
