Indian space programmes are purely with a vision for national development, remarked Arvind Kumar, the head of the ‘Geo Sat’ project of the Satellite Centre in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
He was speaking at a programme organised as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of satellite launching under the aegis of Science Club of MGM College, Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University and ISRO, Bangalore, at the Nutana Ravindra Mantapa here on Monday. Mr Kumar said the mission of all space programmes of the country are application driven and self-reliant.
He gave a brief description on events that followed the first launch of space mission by Russia in 1957. MGM College Principal Dr Jayaprakash Mavinakuli, Staff Advisor Prof Kusuma Kamath were present.
