The BBMP has decided to hold public meetings with the help of residents welfare associations to spread awareness on regularisation of unauthorised constructions and developments.
Deputy Commissioner (Resources) U V Vasantha Rao said that the Palike will hold at least 150 public meetings across eight zones. He appealed to residents associations to contact the Palike. “Palike officials will attend the meeting and explain how to fill in application forms, how to calculate rate of violation, details on guidance value to the public. Residents welfare associations can write to Deputy Commissioner (Resources). The Palike will fix dates and send the team of officials”, he said.
Mr Rao said that more than one lakh copies of the booklet along with application forms have been sold so far. The booklet carries information necessary for regularisation. It has examples on how to work out violations and how to calculate fee for regularisation. The public would be benefited more if they go through the booklet, he said.
Mr Rao made it clear that no Palike officer will fill up application forms.
