No power supply
There will be no power supply today from 10 am to 5 pm. The areas that would be affected are: Nethaji Road, Kemp Road, Hains Road, St Johns Church Road, Promenade Road, Spencer Road and surrounding areas.
Water adalat
BWSSB water adalat of North-1 sub-division will be held today from 9.30 am to 11 am in the office of the assistant executive engineer of this division at Malleswaram, 18th Cross for customers coming under the jurisdiction of Yeshwanthpura, Srirampuram and Malleswaram service station limits.
Executive engineer of this division will hear and settle disputes connected to water billing and other related disputes.
Customers are requested to give written applications regarding billing disputes addressing it to Chairman, adalat committee and give it to their respective sub- division offices. This adalat will be conducted on every first Thursday of the month at the same time and same place. For more details call: 22945130, 22945131.
Last date
Last date for submitting application for II PU examination scheduled for March 2008 as private candidates is October 31 without fine and November 15 with penalty.

Heart operations
Rotary District 3190 in collaboration with some NGO’s and Rotarians from the US plans to fund fifty heart operations for children coming from weaker sections of society shortly. This was announced by Rajendra Rai, District Governor, on Wednesday.“We have a tie up with Manipal Heart Foundation. These operations will be done at a cost of Rs 50 lakh,” said Mr Rai while speaking at an event organised by Rotary Bangalore South. “On October 15, fifty cycles will be distributed among women coming from rural areas under our women empowerment programme,” he added.
Power conference
The Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore, is organising an international conference on “Polymeric materials in power engineering” from October 4 to 6. More than 200 delegates including 40 from such countries as US, Europe, Asia will participate in the conference. A good number of organisations from polymer and electrical industries are also expected to participate in the event.
Cash prize bagged
Cross Road Consultancy bagged a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh at Dconstruct competition conducted for students of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) on Wednesday. The team, comprising four students-Neetu Chitkara, Rahul Arya, Parvej and Amlan Chaudhary won themselves a certificate besides the cash prize.
It was held by the Diamond Management Technology Consultants, a US-based consulting firm. Organised by the Diamond Management Technology Consultants, a US-based consulting firm, the competition was held with an objective of introducing management students to management and technology consulting.
