Painting competition

The Indian Royal Academy of Art & Culture is organising its 4th Annual Painting Competition for Children and Youth - 2007.  School as well as PUC students and those pursuing DMC, ATC, Foundation, Diploma in Drawing and Painting Job oriented courses (JOC) are eligible to participate in this contest. Painting can be done in any medium. Participants can choose their own topic.

Kannada classes

Kannada Prasaar Parishat will start its next batch of spoken Kannada, Kannada Script Learning and Higher Kannada Classes from October 7, 2007. Course from ICAI

A course in Corporate Accounting, Finance and Business Laws is open to Finance Executives and members of the Institute, currently working in the field of Finance and Accounts. Applicants for this course should have at least two years of experience in the finance function.

Knowledge of accounting terms, principles and procedures are essential as the course will cover areas that are comparatively advanced in nature like Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT), Transfer Pricing, International Finance, Service Tax, VAT and the other subjects of professional interest.

The Institute will accept applicants for the course, nominated by their organisation. Self employed professionals or professionals who run their organisations are also welcome to apply.

The sessions will be conducted on Saturday mornings from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm from November 3, 2007 to mid April 2008. The course will be conducted at the Management Development Training Centre at the Institute premises, ICAI, "ICAI Bhawan", and 16/0 Millers Tank Bed Area, Bangalore-560052

Fees: Rs. 20,000/- per participant. Fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. The organisation sponsoring a minimum of five participants will be allowed to nominate one extra participant without any additional payment.

Fashion course

Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) started a 3 year B.Sc course in Fashion and Apparel Design affiliated to Bangalore University. The comprehensive course will include imparting the best skills in fashion designing, merchandising, apparel production, retailing and all other aspects of the garment industry. Students who have passed II year PUC in any stream are eligible for the course.

Free training for unemployed women

Canara Bank Self Employment Training Institute for Rural Women, Harohalli-562112, Kanakapura Taluk, Bangalore Rural District, Sponsored by Canara Bank Centenary Rural Development Trust, is conducting 30 days compulsory residential free training to women in Office Management and Basic Computer Course  from October 22, 2007.

Free boarding and lodging is provided during the training.
