Two persons were arrested by the town police on Saturday when they were trying to sell ganja at KSRTC bus stand in Madikeri. The police also seized 8 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.20 lakh. Kanakaraj (27) and M Ramu (27), who were arrested were basically textile dealers hailing from Peruguppanpalya of Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu. While they were sitting in the KSRTC bus stand in the town with bags, the police questioned them and found ganja in their bags.
They had illegally bought ganja from Andhra Pradesh and were trying to sell it here. Further investigations are on, the police informed.
The police team led by DySP Shashikumar along with Circle Inspector P S Krishnakumar, Sub-Inspector Srinivas and other officers were present during the operation.
