Another Bihar in the making?
Sir,
H D Kumaraswamy should have tendered his resignation by Oct 2 and made way for B S Yediyurappa to become the CM, as per the contract which he had made 20 months ago. Instead, he is finding silly reasons to hold on to the chair.
He is continuously giving lame excuses for the power transfer. The CM has said in one of the occasions that “none of the BJP members have asked him directly for the power transfer”.
Kumaraswamy gives the examples of DMK’s role in the central government, Lalu’s rule in Bihar in trying to retain power. We should always take good examples to learn from and not the worst.
Mr Kumaraswamy has no moral right to continue in the office and if he still continues to do so, we are just in another BIhar, ruled by Gowda and his family.

Cunning
Sir,
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has proved that he is after all a politician, who never keeps up his words.
Also, he is not any different from other politicians who will do anything to be in power. It is very disappointing for us voters who trusted him and always appreciated his governance.
Anyway its an eye opener and warning for us to exercise our franchise rightly and elect a person who is honest and clean. Wish he had kept up his words as per his agreement and transferred the power on the due date.

Suicidal decision
Sir,
The news item indicating the possibility of the Congress party lending outside support to the beleaguered JD(S) to sustain the government, comes as a shock to every genuine Congress well wisher.
The wily Gowda will be too happy to keep the reins of power with his family and the process will initiate such manoeuvres as to smother the Congress electorally.
If Congress ventures to indulge in a self destructive course it may end up losing even the little credibility it now has.

High esteem
Sir,
Our Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy has done an excellent job in the past 20 months. However I feel the JD(S) should hand over the Chief Ministership to BJP as per their agreement.
In coalition politics, a political party cannot afford to ignore the sentiments of its partner and adhere to the principles of coalition dharma. This way our Chief Minister will be looked at in higher esteem.

One-sided
Sir,
This is with reference to your editorial on the Supreme Court order regarding the bundh call given by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
Of course, a bundh call given by any party or individual cannot be supported because it disrupts normal life. But at the same time, why did the honourable Supreme Court judges who threatened to impose Presidential rule, never bothered to intervene or warn the Gujarat government when the Godhra riots took place?

Lakshman Rekha
Sir,
Tamil Nadu government deserves to be dismissed for flouting the orders of the Supreme Court.
But the moot question is whether the UPA government at the Centre is capable of rational behaviour and arriving at a correct and appropriate decision in the light of the observations of the SC when it is dependant for continuing in power on the crucial support being extended by the DMK.
On earlier occasions, the Central Government had remained a mute spectator without even cautioning and reminding him, that his intemperate outbursts are crossing the “Lakshman Rekha” of decent
politics!
