Files pile up in seat of power
Bangalore, dhns:
The administration has taken a beating again in the State. With the ministers of the Kumaraswamy cabinet keeping off from the corridors of power, Vidhana Soudha wore a deserted look on Tuesday.

Not a single minister visited Vidhana Soudha. The question of BJP ministers did not arise as they have submitted resignation to the CM and they also returned their cars to the government.

Result: Files are piling up, important projects and schemes that were on the pipeline have remained stuck and implementation of ongoing projects has been affected.

A senior bureaucrat said that ‘administration has collapsed’.  “The administration at top consists of ministers, secretaries and principal secretaries... when this chain is broken, how can work progress? Day to day business will continue, essential services will be unaffected... but without political bosses many decisions can’t be taken.” He also said when political uncertainty lingers for long, then officials end up wasting time. Rumours rule the day and no work take place.

Many top bureaucrats, as usual, were not available in the office.

In fact, administration going for a toss has become a curse for the State in the recent years.

CM’s take
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, however, said that the turmoil had not affected the administration. “I will not allow the administration to be affected. I know how to manage it smoothly,” he stated.
