Techies suicide bid aborted

Pradeep Kumar (29), a software engineer from Vimanapura here, tried to commit suicide by jumping from Nandi Hills on Wednesday. He was found trapped in the tree foliage on Thursday.

He tried to embrace death but death defied him when he had a miraculous escape even after falling from a height of 2,000 feet.

Pradeep Kumar (29), a software engineer from Vimanapura here, tried to commit suicide by jumping from Nandi Hills on Wednesday. He was found trapped in the tree foliage on Thursday.

According to the police, Kumar was working in an American firm. He had recently attended an interview at a leading IT firm.

He was selected for the job, but due to some discrepancies in the documents he had submitted, his selection was cancelled.
Upset over this, he came to Nandi Giridham and tried to commit suicide. He threw away his cellphone and other belongings at Kudure Mettilu region on the hill and jumped from the hill.

He sustained injuries on the neck and hands. He is being treated at the government hospital here.
Police and the fire-fighting squad had a tough time in bringing him down.

Sub-Inspector Gopal Nayak lauded the efforts of the locals in assisting the police and the fire fighters. Circle Inspector Thippeswamy visited the spot.
