He tried to embrace death but death defied him when he was miraculously saved even after falling from a height of  2,000 feet.

Software engineer from Vimanapura, Bangalore, Pradeep Kumar (29) tried to commit suicide when he jumped from the Nandi Hills at Nandi Giridhama. But he was found trapped on a tree 2,000 feet below on Thursday, a day after he attempted suicide.

Police said, Pradeep Kumar jumped from a hill located between Mayur Hotel in Nandi Giridham and Gandhi Nilaya on Wednesday afternoon. However, they got the information only on Thursday afternoon.

Cancelled
Pradeep Kumar was working in an American company. He had recently attended an interview at Infosys. He was also selected for the job. But there were certain discrepancies in the documents submitted by him and thus his selection was cancelled.

Upset over this incident, he came to Nandi Giridham and tried to commit suicide. He threw away his mobile and other belongings at the Kudure Mettilu region on the hill and later, jumped from the hill.

He has received injuries on his neck and hands only and is being treated at the Government Hospital in the city. The police and the fire fighting squad had a herculean task in saving him. Sub Inspector Gopal Nayak has praised the efforts of the local people in assisting the police and the fire fighting squad. Circle Inspector Thippeswamy visited the spot. The rural police have registered a case in this regard.
