Samskriti Foundation in Tumkur is gearing up for an All India Sanskrit Sammelan, a first of its kind to be held in Tumkur, in the last week of October.
The Foundation president K Rajiv and the Sammelana committee office-bearers Sampige Jagadish, Sridhar Shastri Soori, Omkar, at a press conference here said that Seer of Siddaganga mutt Dr Shivakumara Swamiji will inaugurate the programme in which President Dr Pratibha Patil and former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam are expected to participate as chief guests.
The Sammelana, organised as part of the birtn centenary celebrations of the Seer, is being held at Uddana Shivayogi vedike, named after Dr Shivakumara Swamiji’s guru.

The Vedike is under construction. In the total six sessions, various scholars from across the country will take part.
Horanadu Dharmadhikari Bhimeswara Jois has been selected as the honourary president of the Sammelana Committee and Dr Shirdhar Shastri Soori is elected as the president of the committee.
The committee headed by Dr M Shivakumara Swami and comprising Dr P S Ramanujam, Dr H V Nagarajarao, G K Ramamurty, Dr Srinivasa Varakhedi, Dr K Prabhakar Bhat, Sampatkumar, Dr Sridhar Shastri Soori, Janardhan Heggade, K Rajiv and Sampige Jagadish, will elect the president of the Sammelana. And Samskrita Vibhooshana award will be given to a scholar who has contributed to Sanskrit literature. Seers and heads of various mutts and religious institutes including Sri Vishweshateerta Swamiji, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Sri Balagangadharanath Swamiji, Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji and Sri Veerendra Heggade will guide the committee in organising the Sammelana.
