Former minister and suspended JD(S) member P G R Sindhia on Thursday called for fresh Assembly elections in the State to resolve the continuing political impasse.
Sindhia said the State’s administrative machinery had come to a halt over the past couple of months, due to speculation on the scheduled transfer of power. “The only solution is to dissolve the Assembly and go in for a fresh mandate,” he said.
Sindhia observed that even during the political crisis, the Cabinet had cleared projects worth thousands of crores of rupees. He said he would meet Governor Rameshwar Thakur after October 15 to brief him on the misdeeds of the coalition government.
