: The BJP ministers have been staying away from official work after they submitted their resignation letters to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on October 2 evening.
On Thursday, most of them made use of their free time by staying glued to television sets watching the live telecast of the JD(S) state executive meeting held at the Palace Grounds in Bangalore.
Though JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda and his Chief Minister-son H D Kumaraswamy went hammer and tongs against the BJP branding it communal among others, BJP leaders chose to be mild in their reactions.
The BJP ministers had resigned as the CM had not handed over the power.
Here is what some of the leaders had to say when contacted by Deccan Herald:
“The speeches (by Gowda and Kumarawamy) were not in good taste and contradictory. On one hand Gowda says he is ready to talk to (BJP National President) Rajnath Singh and then hints that he is not ready to hand over power. What should one make out of it?”
-Jagadish Shettar
“They (JD-S) are playing a political game. They have no option but to transfer power to us. All that they are trying to do now is bargain, but we will not heed to their pressure tactics.”
-K S Eshwarappa
“Deve Gowda has said he will be meeting Rajnath Singh in the next couple of days. We are waiting for the outcome, I would not like to make any comments until then.”
