Vidyashankar today said the State Government would soon finalise the
'Knowledge City' project awarded to private sector DLF soon.
The mega project which was expected to have an investment of
nearly Rs 60,000 crore will come up on the 10,000 acre area near
Bidadi about 35 km from the city.
Mr Vidyashankar said ''The knowledge city will have 14 SEZs of
different types of Industries in IT, Semi-conductor, ITeS and BT
sector. It will be connected directly to Devanahalli International
airport coming up in the north of Bangalore. DLF, the promoters of
the project will be investing Rs 3600 crore for the land itself''.
The State Cabinet had decided to award the project to develop
'Bidadi Knowledge City' to DLF on October one.
Speaking about the Government initiatives for technology
knowledge sectors in infrastructure and R and D during a Conference
on Embedded System, he said the Government was also going ahead in
setting up of the country's first Nano technology park that would
come up between Nagawara and Whitefield on the outskirts of the
city. It would have an investment of Rs 500 crore, he added.
