He has been identified as Kushal Kothari of Madhya Pradesh. Nine cellphones, a laptop and a TV were also recovered from him. A search is on for Rajasthan-based Dileep and 16 others.

CCB police said they were placing bets at a house in Vasanthnagar. Police arrested Kothari upon information that he was accepting bets on the India-Australia ODI match in Hyderabad.

Three suicides
Three persons committed suicide in three separate incidents on Thursday in City.

A 20-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming poison in Sahakarnagar on Thursday. Padavathi, a native of Salem was pursuing Diploma in Education in Cauvery Nursing School. Police said, she had consumed poison before returning to Bangalore from her hometown. After reaching her hostel, she went inside her room and slept. The incident came to light after a few hours.

In another incident in HAL police limits, a 20-year-old woman hanged herself at her residence in Jagadishnagar. Bamini was married to Ramesh one year back. She committed suicide on Thursday evening.

Uttam Chandra (32), a resident of Bazaar street in Kengeri police limits, died soon after consuming liquor mixed with poison. The reason for the extreme step in all the three cases are not known.
