Hubli team epITome champs
DH News Service, Mangalore:

  BVBCET team from Hubli bagged the championship at the ‘epITome-07’ IT Fest organised by St Aloysius College MCA department.

NMAMIT team from Nitte bagged the runners up trophy.

The winners were given away with prizes at Eric Mathias Hall in the College premises on Friday.

The list of winners are as follows:

Sign-in: Canara Engineering College (first), Christo Jayanthi College (second)

Coding: Nitte NMAMIT (first), BVBCET Hubli (second)

Jam: Nitte NMAMIT (first), Canara Engineering College (second).

Web Designing: Srinivas College Mangalore (First), BVBCET Hubli (second)

Quiz: Goa University (first), BVBCET Hubli (second)

Gaming: Christo Jayanthi College (first), Shree Rayeshwar College of Information and Technology (second).
Marketing: BVBCET Hubli(first), Christo Jayanthi College (second)

Treasure hunt: Goa University (first), BVBCET Hubli (second)

Culture: Nitte NMAMIT

Star of Epitome: Ram Mohan Pai of Canara Engineering College.

The valedictory address was delivered by BBC former producer Adam Clapham.

He said that in India the percentage of students who successfully reach collegiate education are only 7 per cent as against 50 per cent in developed nations. “India can become a developed nation when this percentage takes a gigantic leap,” Mr Clapham opined.

He said that the youth must be more innovative and accordingly the percentage of the skilled labourers in every sector must increase. St Aloysius College Principal Fr Swebert D’Silva, AICS Director Fr Denzil Lobo and others were present .
