Nritya Pratibha Utsav, a festival of young dancers will be jointly organised at Town Hall from October 8 to 11, informed DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.
Speaking at a press meet , he said the programme will be jointly organised by DK district administration, Sangeet Natak Academy, Sridevi Nritya Kendra, Mangalore; District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kalkura Pratishtana, Mangalore. Maya Rao will inaugurate the festival which will include various dance forms across the country like Kathak, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Mohiniattam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Basanta Ras and Pung Cholom. Lodging, food, programme arrangements and distribution of invites will be taken care by the organisers. Invitees have been requested to take their seats along with the invitation cards, 15 minutes before the commencement of the programme. Danseuse Jayalakshmi Alva will inaugurate the valedictory function, he added. HQA Prabhakar Sharma, State Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor and Sridevi Nritya Kendra (Mangalore) Director Aarti Shetty were present.
