JD(S) supported candidate D N Srinivas has been elected as the President of Kyalanur Sericulture Grower’s Co-operative Association. Congress supported candidate Krishnappa lost the post with a narrow margin of one vote.
Counting of votes for the Kyalanur Sericulture Grower’s Co-operative Association President’s election was withheld on Friday, despite the election being held five days back which was on Sunday.
Counting of votes was withheld as the Congress members had opposed it due to a printing mistake wherein one Mr Sriramappa was named as Srirama Reddy in the voter’s list.
After that, the Ballot box was kept under vigil for three days and the Congress members had held a dharna in front of the office of the Assistant Manager of Co-operative complaining the delay in the Counting process.
This was later brought to the notice of the Assistant Manager who took stringent measures for Counting and was successful in convincing the leaders of Congress and JD(S).
