Domestic gas cylinders illegally used for commercial purposes by some shop keepers in Hebbur near here were seized in a joint operation by  Food and Civil Supply Department Officials, Deputy Commissioner and Police .  These cylinders were also the part of black market.

In this surprise raid 33 gas cylinders were seized from 4 shops. In view of the reports published that domestic gas cylinders were allegedly used for commercial purpose in the district, Deputy Commissioner S R Umashankar planned the joint action. He had earlier warned the people against the commercial use of domestic gas cylinders. But, defying this, illegal use of gas cylinders were rampant and some had even started using it  in there vehicles. Strict action will be taken in future in this regard said S R Umashankar.
