Free health check-up camp
Free health check up camp has been organised under the aegis of Sanjeevini Charitable Trust, Sira Taluk Panchayat, Sri Nanjavadhuta Swamiji Seva Committee on Sunday at Prasanna Ganapati Rangamandira premises, in Bukkapatna, said Trust President and Doctor S G Parameshwarappa.

Doctors conduct check ups related to heart, diabetes, blood pressure and other problems. Blood group test and eye test will be held in the camp.  Dr Parameshwarappa, Dr Sureshababu, Dr Harish, Dr Niranjan, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Lokesh will conduct the check up. Public are requested to participate in the camp.

Guruvandana on October 7
Guruvandana Mahotsava and Basava Jayanti will be held at Siddaganga Engineering College on October 7, said a release.

Siddaganga Mutt Seer Dr Sri Shivakumara Swamiji will preside over the function which will be held at SIT Birla auditorium. Sri Siddaganga Swamiji will inaugurate the programme. Senior KAS Officer Manu Baligar will deliver a lecture on the occasion. Dr Abdul Hamid will be the chief guest at the function. Professor Basavarajaiah, SIT Principal Dr S M Shashidhar will participate in the function. After the function, ‘Jagajyoti Basaveshwara’, a play will be staged by Siddalingeshwara Krupa Poshita Nataka Mandali.

Power theft: Two persons fined
BESCOM Vigilance Squad has found power theft in the city and fined Rs 5.46 lakh to the guilty.  It was found that two persons residing in CSI Layout was using the power through bore well with out having the electric connection. BESCOM Vigilance Squad comprising Inspector P Ravi, Basu Khakandaki, M Shivaprasad, Govindaraju under the leadership of Superintendent of Police C N Bhandari under took the operation.
