Peace, value education
Messengers of Peace and Harmony, Benedictine Inter-religious Federtion, St Mark’s Cathedral, Indian co-existence Initiative and Bangalore YMCA organised a peace and value education seminar for three day recently on the theme: ‘A Gurukul in a Techno Society : A Transformatory Journey’ at Asirvanam, Kumbalgod.
The event was inaugurated by J Alexander, National President of the YMCAs of India. He released a booklet titled: ‘Stop the Cultural Virus: Peace Engineers in Action” compiled for the seminar on the theme by Rev Dr Thomas Ninan, Director of India Co-existence Initiative.A group of 50 teachers and 6 post-graduate students took time to talk about communal violence, personal peace, caste, race, nationalism and the nuclear deal in order to make a commitment to be channels of peace in society.
