While Ekta Kapoor has way of butchering almost every profession she chooses depict in her serials, you have to thank her for keeping it short at half an hour. Vishal Inamdar however chooses to turn his unrealistic and stupid take on media into a full fledged movie!
In his version Koel Purie plays an upright journalist who gets caught up between her ethics and reality when she conducts a sting operation to trap a police official sexually exploiting a young girl.
Her ideals take a severe blow as she battles bureaucracy and her own management for justice. One would think this as food for thought, but that is unfortunately not the case at all. There is only one thing that this movie gets right and that is the timing of the release, given the current scenario of media trials and sting operations.
The rest of it is a long way from the tick box. Terrible screenplay, corny dialogues and atrocious acting massacre the already dead attempt. The film does not even try be a realistic or hard hitting narrative.
What should have been a gripping tale on the under belly of the media instead ends up being unintentionally funny. Change the channel on this one.
