Cris Johnson A.K.A ‘Frank Cadillac’ hides behind routine magic tricks so that the world will leave him alone. The man can see the future! He always knew that Agent Callie Ferris (Moore) would be paying him a visit seeking help on a case, and that he’d refuse, and that he’d flee from the spot before the cops would arrive to arrest him for a crime he’s not guilty of.
If only Ferris would give up chasing him! Sure, he’s met the woman of his dreams and wants to spend his time getting to know her better, but work comes first (Ferris’s, that is). And Cris will simply have to focus! There’s a nuclear device planted by terrorists somewhere in the city that’s capable of immense destruction and Mr Crystalball’s services can’t be required more.
Don’t foster hopes of watching an all-out action thriller. The romance, and the lovestruck (let’s make that ‘goofy’) look on Cage’s face for most part of the film destroys any chances there are of that. Graphics are present, but none that’re breathtaking.
So you’re stuck with a movie that’s interesting here and there, leaving you wishing that you had the power to foresee the end and save some precious time.
And won’t Cage be wishing he’d seen the film’s unhappy fate before signing up for it!
