More than 38,000 Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) employees across the country will be treated on par with Central government employees.

The Group of Ministers (GoM)  meeting chaired by Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Friday decided the employees of Prasar Bharati-run DD and AIR would be on “deemed deputation”.

Lack of clarity deprived those deputed from other Central government departments of facilities like housing, medical and education for children.
