This is with ref. to the Judgement given by the Orissa High Court asking the state Govt. to penalise those who block highways during agitations (DH-5.10.07).

This has been a long overdue action and should be lauded since road blockades and damaging public property is the first thing that is done during any agitation or protest. The inconvenience caused to the public and the cost of damages to public property is enormous.

Such strict measures will surely deter antisocial elements from taking the law into their own hands.
