Vehicle lifter killed in mishap
DH News Service, Bangalore:
A vehicle lifter was killed while driving a stolen call centre vehicle on Bellary Road in Yelahanka traffic police limits on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred at 5.50 am, when a stolen Tata Sumo collided head on with a private bus. The deceased is yet to be identified. The police said, at around 4.15 am, a call centre vehicle driver had complained to the Kalasipalyam police station that his Tata Sumo was stolen while he was having tea near Aiyappa temple.

The police flashed the news and vehicle registration number to all concerned. Around the same time, control room received news that the vehicle had met with an accident and the driver was killed on the spot.

Electrocuted
A construction worker was electrocuted near Chandapura on Hosur Road on Friday evening. Narasimha (30) came in contact with a live wire while digging a trench. Police said, the metal crow bar came in contact with the live electric wire.

Housewife ends life
A 22-year-old house wife committed suicide by hanging at her Hebbugodi residence on Thursday evening. Prema was married to Manja two years ago. The husband is absconding.

Body found
A mutilated body of an unidentified woman, aged around 30, was found in Hongasandra drainage in Madivala police limits on Saturday night.

The pieces of the body, which were stuffed in three gunny bags, were traced at different places.
The police questioned many locals over the incident.

The body has been sent for post mortem.

Tanker kills youth
A youth was run over by a water tanker on H Hosahalli Main Road near Hebbugodi on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Harish.

Cheats nabbed
A woman and daughter were arrested for allegedly cheating some home makers.
The police arrested Santoshi Devi (42) and Mamatha (21) from Rajasthan and recovered nearly 1.5 kg gold and 4.9 kg silver valued around Rs 12.75 lakh. The duo used to befriend women and then decamp with valuables, the police added.

Robbers arrested
Hebbal police have arrested a notorious gang involved in major robbery.

Saleem alias Mohammed Shareef (40), Saheel alias Sadik (22), Saleem alias Munna (28), Akram Pasha alias Imran (22), Md Sharief alias Chand (29), Prakash alias Tukaram Turdekar (27) and Santosh alias Vittal (24) used to keep an eye on the gold buyers, attack them and escape with the booty, according to police sources.
