The group severely criticised the JD(S) for having backtracked on word to transfer power to the BJP on October 3rd.
The leaders of the Samithi said that the JD(S) leaders had cheated the BJP after having promised for a power transfer after 20 months in office. The leaders also added that JD(S) was threatened by the excellent administration of Yediyurappa and therefore had resorted to this desperate measure to keep him from power.

They also warned the JD(S) that the Veerashaiva Community would not stand for deceit. The protesters carried torch light and took out their protest from Townhall circle through many of the main roads in the city.
Nagaratna Shivanna, Asha Prasanna Kumar, T R Sadashivaiaha, G R Shivakumar, S G Chandramouli, H N Shivakumar and others participated in the protest that took strong objection to the JD(S) tactics.

President of the Basavsene city wing, Deepak announced in a press conference that the JD(S) had insulted the lingayat community by refusing to transfer power to the BJP. He also added that the JD(S) had refused to hand over power to the BJP to curtail the rising popularity of the Veerashaiva community He warned the JD(S) that the Veerashaiva community would deliver a befitting reply to this insult in the forthcoming elections. “The electorate will teach the power thirsty Devegowda a proper lesson.”he said.
