Primrose move past Rainbow HC
Primrose defeated Rainbow Hockey Club 4-2 in the D S Murthy & V Karunakaran Memorial hockey tournament at the KSHA Stadium on Monday.

Thimmaiah (13th minute), Kaveriappa (23rd, 33rd) and Parthiban scored for Primrose. Gautham (4th) and Amir Faizal (18th) struck for Rainbow.

In another match, MEG Boys drubbed Rising Stars Hockey Club 10-0.

David Dung Dung (9th, 27th, 44th), Rakesh Roshan Ekka (11th), Jaganath Dodray (13th, 16th), Noel Dodray (14th, 18th, 22nd) and Kamla Lokraj (47th) were the scorers.

Rebello quells Jeyakrishna
Michael Rebello rallied after losing the first frame to beat Jeyakrishna 3-1 (41-75, 61-26, 50-33, 59-58) in the second round of the Senior State-ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA Hall on Monday.

Kumar does star turn for HAL
B K Kumar claimed five for 26 while Manjunath picked three for 23 to help HAL score a facile nine-wicket win over FCI and move into the semifinals of the Industries tournament.

Facile win for SBMJC
Sree Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College scored a facile seven wickets win over Presidency Pre-University College in the BHS FGC invitational inter-college cricket tournament on Monday.

Presidency PUC: 123/8 in 25 overs (Vikas 2-12) lt to SBMJC (Degree): 127/3 in 20.1 overs (Sadiq Kirmani 67).
Vijaya Degree College: 120/8 in 25 overs (Sandeep 4-19, A Kazi 2-14) lt to SBMJC (PU): 121/5 in 19.3 overs (Sandeep Baldia 30; Sonu Gerard 3-28).

Bharath, Tandon star for MSRIT
Powered by K V Bharath’s century (109) and Karan Tandon’s five wicket haul (5-15), MSRIT registered a big 168-run win over RVCE in the 10th MS Ramaiah Memorial inter-engineering college cricket tournament at the BEL grounds on Monday.

MSRIT: 266/7 in 40 overs (K V Bharath 109, Anindya Ghosh 43, Sandeep Murthy 36) bt RVCE: 98 all out in 24.2 overs (Arjun 25; Karan Tandon 5-15, Vijay Karthik 2-7).

Rudra, Pooja to lead State teams
Rudra Kumar Rao and Pooja D will lead the State boys’ and girls’ netball teams respectively in the Sub-junior National championships to be held in Hyderabad from October 10-14.

State-level  cricket tourney
Vijaya Pre-University College, Jayanagar, will conduct their 36th inter-pre-university college State-level cricket tournament in November-December.
