A gang of 20 barged into Hotel Empire on Church Street Road and manhandled a waiter, broke window panes and ransacked furniture on Sunday night.
According to sources, a gang of four picked up a quarrel with hotel owner on Saturday night and warned the owner they would be back on Sunday to settle scores with him.
On Sunday, the gang barged into the hotel and created ransacked the furniture. Police provided security in and around the hotel for some time.
The hotel management has not lodged a complaint.
