Motorist dies in road accident
A motorist died in a road accident in Kamakshipalya traffic police limits recently. He has been identified as K Nagaraj (58), a resident of Nagarabhavi. Nagaraj was riding his bike when his vehicle came in contact with another vehicle. He lost control and fell down. He succumbed to severe injuries.

Chain-snatcher nabbed
Jayanagar police arrested a man on charges of chain-snatching and recovered six gold chains worth Rs 2.5 lakh. He has been identified as C Shankar (30). He used to accost lonely women, threaten them with a knife and rob them, police said.

Man held for theft
C K Achchukattu police arrested two persons on charges of chain-snatching and recovered gold chains and a motorbike worth Rs 1.40 lakh. The two are: K Harish (22) and D Shankar (27). The accused had robbed H S Leelavathi, a resident of Bhuwaneshwarinagar, of her gold chains.

Sandalwood tree chopped off
Four unidentified persons chopped off a sandalwood tree in Malleshwaram and escaped with some sandalwood billets early on Sunday.
According to the police, they came in a car, gained entry into the compound of Everest Apartment, chopped off a few branches and escaped with the billets. Police rushed to the spot and transported the remaining sandalwood billets to the forest department.
A search is on for the accused.
