A preliminary meeting was convened by the department to finalise arrangements for the celebrations with leading colleges, trade associations, said Tourism director Somashekara. Keeping with the theme, a run will be organised in the morning starting at Vidhana Soudha and concluding at Bal Bhavan where all women entrepreneurs and artists will participate. KLE College will conduct an inter-collegiate competition in essay writing and debate on the theme.
On the cards is also a cultural programme that will be organised at Ambedkar Bhavan in the evening. The programme will trace Karnataka's cultural heritage through various periods in history highlighting the dynasties that ruled here. This will be represented in the form of a dance ensemble performed by artistes of the Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography, Somasekhara explained.
Camera Kannalli Karnataka, a photography competition will be open to professional photographers as well as regular travellers who have travelled across the State.
