Diary farming has been the life-supporting occupation for majority of people in the district.
People should be very careful about some private diaries which try to deceive them by offering ambitions, said Kolar Milk Union Limited president Nagaraj.
Speaking after inaugurating the newly formed building of Milk co-operative association at a cost of Rs 3.25 lakh at Niltur village in Srinivaspur, he said that, today in Kolar, there are 1,579 associations.
Recalling early years of the standard of life of Milk distributors, he said that life was not so good then, but today it is quite comfortable for the distributors of milk.
Special facilities
He also said that in the next three months, there will be hike in the rates for the benefit of milk distributors and compensation of Rs 10,000 will be given to the family of the distributor in case of his death, who should have supplied milk for a period of 180 days and also various facilities such as urgent veterinary medical facility, Yashaswini health scheme and others will be provided, he added.
The director of the association Munivenkatappa appreciated the construction of own building for the functioning of the association and said that out of 144 Milk Union Associations only 76 own their own building and attributed the success of Milk co-operative association building at the place of its own to all the people who worked for it very hard.

This occupation can be of great help for farmers who suffer from crop loss, Munivenkatappa suggested.
President of Niltur Milk Union Association Sri Rama Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
