Two killed in an accident
Kolar, DHNS: Two persons died on spot when a car and a lorry collided near Kurki lake on National Highway 4 at 3.15 pm in the taluk. Three others are severely injured.

The deceased are identified as Ganesh (25) of Palenahalli near Yalahanka and Manjunath (29).

The accident occurred after they were returning from Koti Lingeshwara temple. After colliding with the Lorry, the Car fell in the lake and two persons died on spot, said the police.

The three injured have been admitted to the hospital. Vemagal police have registered the case and further investigation is on. 

Car reduced to ashes
Chintamani, DHNS: A car reduced to ashes after a short circuit occurred in the battery wire of the car near Kanishettyhalli in Chintamani-Chelur road on Saturday. Fortunately the persons inside the car have escaped unhurt.

The incident occurred when the persons inside the car were returning from Shaneeshwara temple at Siddepalli cross. The car driver who sensed danger after seeing the fire asked the persons inside to get down from the car.
As soon as they got down, the car burnt down and was reduced to ashes, it is said. The Rural police have registered the case.

Rs 1,20,000 worth jewellery stolen
Bangarpet, DHNS: As many as Rs 1,20,000 lakh worth jewellery was stolen at Vivekananda 9th cross on Saturday in the town.

The robbery occured when Keshav, a BEML employee had been to his relative’s house along with his family.

The thieves have made away with Rs 50,000 cash, 84 gram Gold, 100 gm Siver and other items worth Rs 1,20,000, complained Keshav in a complaint to the police.

It is said that the stealth might have taken place around 1 am and the police have seized the two wheeler which they have left. Further investigation is on.
