WHO IS DCC PRESIDENT?
The Saturday’s appointment of former minister B Ramanath Rai as the District Congress President; Mr Sadananda Poonja’s press meet where no other party leaders were seen; his “no comment” mode on the new appointment; his repeated statements that “Mr Blasius D’Souza is still the president of District Congress”... have again posed several questions regarding the indifference in the District Congress, in the wake of the forthcoming local body polls.
For the queries from media, Mr Poonja, in the beginning said, he would not comment on the appointment of Mr Rai, but later clarified that he has all wishes for the new president. However, he said as Mr Rai is yet to take the charge, Mr D’Souza himself is the present president.
For the absence of the party leaders, he said Mr D’Souza is not keeping well, while others are participating in an important meeting. Though Mr Poonja said all is well in the party, he later added that indifference is common in a big set-up, but it won’t affect the election results.
