US Arms Aid To Pak A Menace
New Delhi, Sept. 9.
Prime Minister Nehru put the West on notice today that the US, SEATO and Baghdad Pact military aid to Pakistan was very considerable and was “a menace to India unless we deal with it.
Mr Nehru said that he would like the US and “other friendly countries concerned” to realise that their policies of military alliances and military aid (to Pakistan) “have added to India’s financial burdens - burdens owing to a feeling of In-security.”
Pressure on Forex Reserves continues
New Delhi, Sept. 9.
Mr Morarji Desai, Minister for Commerce and Industry, said here today that the pressure on the country’s foreign exchange reserves had not shown signs of
abating.
Mr Desai was addressing an emergent meeting of the Import Advisory Council held here today to discuss the Import policy for the period October 1957 to March 1958.

Farmers Plan Ballot Boycott Campaign

Bangalore, Sept. 9.
The Karnataka Rajya Ryot Sangha has given a call to farmers all over the Stae to boycott the ensuing Assembly elections.
The “ballot boycott” campaign would be started as a protest against the Government’s failure to provide a fair deal to the ryots agitating since the last two years, Sangha Central Secretary N. D. Sundaresh announced at a press conference, here.
“Empty ballot boxes will be returned from the villages. All political parties have become irrelevant,” he said.
