Sporting tri colour bangles as ear rings and hair accessories, and decked in tops with the word pataka (firecracker) and atom bomb in bold, models set the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp ablaze as the designer duo of Fightercock – Abhishek Gupta and Nandita Basu – showcased their collection.
“Mogambo Khush Hua” and other dialogues from Bollywood film Mr India and the classic number Mera juta hai Japani... played as the background score. The frame was decorated lavishly with colourful children’s clothes. There were dustpans, sieves and plastic water bottles as if an Indian village fair had been set up on the ramp.
“Our collection has derived inspiration from India and the whole set up symbolised the same. The background score indicated that the present generation may sport western clothes but are true Indians at heart,” Basu said.

Trousers, shirts, jump suit dresses, tops of varied lengths and styles teamed with shorts and capris completed the women’s wear line. While the men’s wear comprised of trousers, shirts, body hugging T-shirts and jackets. The likes of beauty expert Shahnaz Hussain, Ritu Kumar, Sunil Sethi attended the show.
