The wreckage of the ill-fated four seater flight was shifted to the Jakkur Aerodrome from Gowdanapalya lake bed, after the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted investigations for the second consecutive day.
The investigating officials, headed by Regional Manager Air Safety Raju, inspected the site to gather information about the accident.
However, they are yet to ascertain the reasons for the crash and the DGCA is expected to table a detailed report in three to four days, said sources.
However, preliminary investigations have reportedly pointed fingers at the aircraft fuel as the reason for the crash. Sources said that the extra fuel the aircraft was carrying led to the accident.
Another angle that is being probed is if the aircraft’s fuel was changed before it took off from the HAL airport to Kochi,
Meanwhile, Joy Alukkas, Chairman of Alukkas Group, to whom the aircraft belonged to, told Deccan Herald from Kochi that he has not received any information from the investigating agencies.
Investigating authorities said that the Italian manufactured Pilactus 68-C aircraft is not equipped with the Flight Data Recorder (black box) and that all they are now dependent on for carrying further investigations is the flight voice recorder, which would have recorded the conversation of the pilots during the last ten minutes before it crashed.
